Russian musical 'First Date'
The musical "First Date" received unprecedented popularity from audiences after its premiere in Seattle, USA in 2012. It was created by a powerful figure in the American film and television industry, with Austin Winsberg, the screenwriter of the American TV series "Gossip Girl", taking on the role of scriptwriter. It combines film and television narrative techniques with musical stage performance and has been praised by The Hollywood Reporter as "bringing a refreshing change to Broadway" and "a benchmark for urban emotional comedy". The Russian version of "First Date" is adapted by a gold medal behind the scenes team certified by the Golden Mask Award, collaborating with many beloved Russian musical stars. Since its premiere in Russia in 2019, it has performed over 350 shows.
In July 2025, Watershed Culture introduced the Russian musical "First Date" and conducted 11 tours in Harbin and Beijing, receiving unanimous praise and a lot of love from the musical audience.
