Swan Lake by Stanislavski Ballet  Sep 2024 China Tour

In 1954, the Stanislavsky Theatre became the first international arts troupe invited to China, introducing a landmark production of Swan Lake choreographed by ballet legend Vladimir Burmeister. This interpretation, renowned for its fidelity to Tchaikovsky’s original score, is hailed as one of the purest renditions of the classic ballet.

Marking 70 years of friendship and cultural exchange between the two countries, Watershed, in partnership with Poly Culture, brought the Stanislavsky Ballet back to China with the Burmeister version of Swan Lake. The 2024 tour featured celebrated Russian artists, including distinguished “People’s Artists” and “Merited Artists,” with 6 performances in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen within a week.
